NightLife at the California Academy of Sciences

The California Academy of Sciences is a renowned scientific and educational institution dedicated to exploring, explaining, and sustaining life on Earth. Based in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, it is home to a world-class aquarium, planetarium, and natural history museum — all under one living roof! Each Thursday night from 6-10pm the Academy offers their NightLife event and opens its doors to provide food, performances and drinks while featuring scientific themes in this unique setting. The themes vary each week and we as a scientists can be involved. In July, we were there showing some of the confocal microscopy pictures that we take in our lab. Together with a member of the Denise Monack lab, we explained our projects and why we study Helicobacter pylori. We had a great time!
